Self-Portrait (repost)

I've posted this photo before , but it seemed a nice one to end with. I've come to the end of the material that I want to share he...

In memory of Dick Hibbert (1933-2010), I am posting selections from his art. He painted in oil, was an avid photographer, did watercolors, and sketched in pencil, ink, and charcoal.   You can send me email by addressing it to my first name at mydruthers.com. --Chris

Under the Bridge

Support posts under a wooden bridge.  Japan, late '60s.  I don't know what bridge this is, though it appears to be at a temple (note the torii.)

Shadows on stairsteps (photo)

This is the Kintai Bridge, in Iwakuni, Japan.  RTH took many different pictures of this bridge.  When I received the set of scans that included this photo, this one was sideways.  It took a little while to identify the subject.

Manette Bridge, Bremerton, Washington

According to JLH:
This was painted while we lived in Bremerton, Washington, from July through November, 1955.  This was the view from our third floor walkup apartment on Highland Street.  It is the Manette Bridge, over a portion of the Puget Sound.
She has it hanging in her apartment now.

Arched Bridges

I have a large print of this hanging at home.   I'm very happy that I've located the negative.  I've seen several prints of this image (with varying levels of contrast), so I know both that RTH liked it, and that other people wanted copies as well.

Untitled (Boathouse and Bridge)

5/13/96.  Sketch in ink.  I haven't seen a source for this, so it could have been drawn from RTH's imagination rather than from an actual site.

[JLH says it was drawn at Peaks of Otter in Virginia.]
